Employer fixated on 14 day isolation then back to work regardless

Hello. A quick question: if you test positive and isolate for the required 10 days but you're still ill after that time has passed, would you need proof or a note from the GP for your employer if you're feeling too unwell to return to work? Should you contact GP anyway if you've had moderate symptoms that haven't improved?

Sorry, title should've read '10 day'

Yes, you would need a full sick note at that point.

The NHS guidance says to only return to work if you feel well and that counts as medical advice at the moment. So no, no drs note needed, you are following the guidance.

Think this is all covered in the official 'isolation note' you can download via the website.

Follow the step by step advice on the website re symptoms and see what it says about symptoms continuing. You can try ringing 111 as per the advice here, if you're concerned:

My partner went back to work after 10 days, after 1 week she was told they had an outbreak on there ward and all staff had to be tested, of course she tested positive again, it never left her system!

My work have now forced me to isolate for 14 days, when i go back go work i would have been in isolation for 4 weeks

Ok thank you. I'll pass it on. Employer wants a sick note but they're still not feeling 100%, not deteriorated though.

It depends how they feel but if they're still poorly 14 days later I'd suggest speaking to the GP antwy
