How bad is this - I'm disgusted

My daughter unfortunately works for a well known organisation that wins lots of Gov contracts but she has nothing to do with nothing to do with the T&T system/fiasco.

She's been told that they should still go into work if they are showing symptoms, they are not to have NHS app on their phones and if they go off due to vivid symptoms they could risk their job if they've already been off sick this year. I've told her this is illegal (it is, yes?) and she's keeping a copy of all such correspondence but I'm wondering if there's anything else she should be doing. We've only communicated via text so I'm waiting to talk to her for full details.

Someone has tested positive and the person they had lunch with the day before has apparently been told to still go in!!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Write to your MP? I imagine there are whistleblowing procedures at the organisation- if so, look them up and have a read. If she's challenging it though, she should expect to need to find a new job and for not much to change long term. Sadly, the odds are stacked in favour of the employer with this sort of thing.

Thanks all. I'll report back when I have more details re how the info is being circulated to staff etc.

Her MP is a Tory twat who voted against FSMs and I very much doubt he'd offer much support....he is known to ignore a lot!

I thought about leaking to media but no idea how to about it so would appreciate any advice but will google.

She wants to leave but in the current climate that doesn't look possible and it's her first job as a young adult.

You could set up a twitter account (can be anonymous) and contact a journalist that way (via private message /DM).

Yes I was thinking the Guardian. Here’s a page about how to contact them securely. Although depending on your DD’s work she may be content with WhatsApping an investigative journalist (you can get their numbers from head office) rather than using Tor or any of the super encrypted stuff.

Thanks all. Very grateful for your advice.
Spoke to her and it really is absurd, illegal and unethical but she won't let me take any action - typical 20yr old - mum you're a busy body stay out of it!! So that's me told. She is keeping evidence though should it be required. Bloody diabolical though.

Suggest HSE if she does decide to get anyone involved. They are pretty good and are in charge of making sure employers comply with safety at work requirements.
