Dd felt worst on day 6 , other than that she had sore throat/cold symptoms.

Op in covid topic under health there are threads about it, the covid lungs thread has been long running and helps people with support..

Don't panic!

My partner tested positive last sunday, the worse symptoms was losing her taste and smell, her taste is coming back now tho!

Surprising enough me and our daughter have caught it and its been almoat 2 weeks now!

Rowgtfc72 · 27/10/2020 08:14

Book riddle I caught it off dd on day 12!

OP you'll have to play your symptoms by ear. I've lost my taste and smell and am knackered but that's it. Dd went to bed for 3 days with a headache and fatigue.

Best advice is keep warm, paracetamol and do very little. Certainly have a rest.

Porcupineinwaiting · 27/10/2020 08:15

Ok, if you already feel really ill then I'm afraid you are likely to keep doing so, or maybe even get gradually worse til about day 8-10, then get gradually better, which can take another 1 or 2 weeks.

If you have that timeframe in mind and it all resolves within 10 days then bonus.

You may find new symptoms developing over that time and then be served with a new unpleasant combination of these each day.

You are likely to have good periods and bad periods, then good days then bad days.

^^All this is normal and doesnt mean you are going to get seriously ill (I'm not telling you to scare you, but because I wish I'd known this when I was sick).

Keep an eye on your breathing. Drink, rest, treat the symptoms as they appear. Rest some more. Try and eat a bit every day even if you dont feel like it.

Good luck Flowers

Does anyone know what will happen with yrack and trace, will they contact me?

OP posts:
Porcupineinwaiting · 27/10/2020 10:01

Hopefully. But if you can let the people you were in contact with in the past few days know, I wouldnt wait - they may not choose to self isolate but they may limit their visits to vulnerable family members and are more likely not to dismiss symptoms if they develop them.

ContemplatingLife435 · 27/10/2020 10:04

I have let them know

Let people you saw in the 48 hours prior to symptoms know, arrange for food for the next 10 days or so to be delivered (especially if like us you aren't in a Deliveroo area, if you are in a larger city it's easy to get food delivered). Make sure you have paracetamol, cough linctus/honey and lemon, the remote control and lots of chocolate then hunker down. I wasn't actually I'll but dp felt rough for 3 days, my friend was poorly for nearer a week, it's hard to know.

Sorry to jump on your thread OP, I hope you start feeling better rather than worse soon!

I got a message through on the NHS app on Saturday to say I’d been near someone who had tested positive for the virus but no further action needed to be taken by me at the moment.

I don’t know if I’m now just being paranoid, or whether it’s because I haven’t slept well in the last few days but yesterday and today I’ve felt bloody exhausted and have a bit of a sore throat. It hasn’t occurred to me to get a test as I don’t have a temperature or cough and I just want to be sure I’m correct in not doing so?
