Tier 1- can 6 kids meet inside for a party. I know it’s rule of six but they are not going to stay 2m apart are they?

In England in Tier One 5 children and 1 adult could meet inside. They are probably not going to stay 2 metres apart. If they are all at school together with no social distancing there, it’s not going to make a huge amount of difference but they could be encouraged to do activities outside and ones that didn’t have them sharing things. They could sanitise hands regularly and you could try to make sure there was adequate ventilation. The fewer together the better though.

It’s a party my child has been invited to and I have said no as it’s an indoor movie watching party with 4/5 kids and I am just annoyed that kid is upset with me that I said no but really this isn’t allowed is it, given they won’t Stay 2 m apart....

Six people don't socially distance around a pub table and that's allowed in tier 1. I would have allowed especially if they are school friends.

Are they in the same bubble at school? DS had 3 friends round and been round to others. They are spending all day at school not SD.

I’d have said no too. We are only doing outdoor meet ups with SD in place. A party is a non essential and not worth the risk. Not to mention would make me think twice about the host given it breaks the guidelines.

I think that scenario is ok for tier 1, especially if all the kids are at school together.

If you want to be super strict on social distancing then you are correct but legally it’s allowed and many at this stage are just following the law especially in relation to kids - you would be in the minority amongst my friends for saying no.

That’s not allowed with no social distancing either. Households can only mix indoors in any setting with 1+m social distancing in tier 1.

Social distancing is guidelines not the law which is why so many people ignore it I guess. I would allow this if they are all in the same bubble at school as they are not really social distancing there. If any kids from outside the bubble then I wouldn't.

@Racoonworld they are the guidelines, anyway a pub/restaurant would need to put a table of six on a 12 person table for 1m to happen. This is certainly not happening where I live.

Kids lose out on so much. I'd be letting them go no matter what tier to be fair especially if they're in school together
