To start with, it was thought only 20% of people got symptoms. What do they think now?

Just thinking back to that assumption from the start of all this. Did they ever update that statistic?

@sinkgirl No I think Fibromyalgia and CFS/ME are equally as bad as Long Covid, and could very well be the same. The problem is people fight for years to get diagnoses for these things, often told its all in the head, it's depression, it's menopause. And now, because it's Covid we

Have MH spouting on about it, saying its more likely on young people, clinic esp for it, and So Much Airtime one would think there's an agenda.

OwlOne · 26/10/2020 21:30

they're saying it in Ireland too though. so have all the governments got together and said let's create panic in women aged 50 - 60 precisely by talking allllllll about long covid and foggy brain?

I agree that governments do obviously want compliance, but they are warning us of the same risks.

I don't think 5G does tie in with Covid. 5G was switched on in lots of places at the same time as Covid started spreading. I think there was some sort if theory about the frequency of 5G making the O2 particles break into just O so that you couldn't actually breathe it or something l.

Anyway. Why would you be not worried about other post viral syndromes or Fibromyalgia which is v common in women in their 40s and 50s, and only worried about Long Covid?

OwlOne · 26/10/2020 22:00

I wasn't worried about fibromyalgia because I didn't know that that was an issue for women aged 50-60. I'd read a couple articles about long covid though. I'll add it to my list of things to worry about. i tried to eat healthily this weekend and I made a big mess of that.

I think Fibromyalgia maybe something that is more of an issue for slightly younger women. Anyway, initially they said 20% of people with Covid were hospitalised. It's nowhere near that. In July in Leicester 1300ish people tested positive for Covid and only 7 were hospitalised. I think far more than just 20% of people are asymptomatic, I think it's probably closer to 50%.

cbt944 · 26/10/2020 22:24

Here it says 15% never develop symptoms. People could of course also be in the asymptomatic phase of infection when you encounter them.

Interesting... the asymptomatic are about a third less likely to spread it. (even though they would be out and about as normal?). Well, normal in these circs.
