Covid

Headache and dizziness for 3 weeks, then temperature spike

I’ve had a horrendous headache and a bit of dizziness off and on for 3 weeks now. Spoke to the doctor last week and he said it was probably a bug (where from I don’t know as I’ve not seen a soul other than my elderly housebound father who I’m sole carer for) and to rest and take paracetamol. Headache is still present and on Friday my temperature went crazy (38.4) and is still high now. I feel well other than headache and I’m very tired.

I did a test yesterday and I’m awaiting results, but how likely is it that it’s Covid when I’ve been feeling off colour for 3 weeks? I’m obviously isolating (not altogether sure how my dad’s going to cope alone however), but do symptoms linger this long? I know a headache is quite common with Covid, but seeing as you only have to isolate for 10 days from onset of symptoms, and I’m way past 10 days from when my headache started, will it even show up on a test?

Hi.

Don't know if you guys can advise...

I have had a slight headache for a day & also felt slightly nauseaous. Wasn't sick, still eating! As ever... 🐖
Zero covid symptoms according to the Gov. website & the track & trace app. Both say unlikely I have covid from the info I entered. So don't suggest a test or isolate.

What would you do?

Whole situation is getting me really anxious.
Appreciate your thoughts Mumsnetters. Thanks!

I would isolate over the weekend and see how I felt on Monday, see if I met the criteria fir a test if I still felt awful.

You might want to report your post & ask MN if they can use it to start your own thread instead?

@40somethingJBJ. How are you feeling now?

I wouldn't do very much to be honest with you! I'd take a couple of paracetamol, have an early night and see how I felt in the morning.

Thanks both.
I don't feel dreadful. Just not 100%.
Will see how I go in the next day or so.

*@40somethingJBJ*. How are you feeling now?

I’m still feeling ropey to be honest. Temperature seems to have settled from what it was, but still over 37 and headache is still present, but not as bad.
