‘Education tiers’ for schools - London

Just had an email from school saying Govt has required schools to set out Education tiers in response to Coronavirus, detailing what’ll happen with different tiers.

Even though London is tier 2, the education tier is still 1 Hmm

So if we move on to Tier 2 only year 7, 12 and 13 will be allowed on site.

Anyone else had this?

My DC go to a school in London and we have heard nothing about this. They did break up last week for half term so maybe that's why but I will remain hopeful that there is no change.

@Dustballs yes I suppose, I’m flummoxed as to why I’d lie about this Confused

Op every school will be planning for tier 2 and beyond.

But the breakdown for years sounds like it is determined by your particular school.

None of us know when any school will move out of tier 1 as it hasn’t happened yet.

I don't think it's strange to receive an email from the school about the tiers. I think it's good communication for parents know what to expect if things were to change. I've received similar. Not strange to me. The only thing that maybe got me a thinking a bit was why are they releasing the plans now, when they had been put together at the start of the term. Did seem like something was about to happen.

Today is the first id heard of educational tiers Grin but thank you and it’s good that they’re planning ahead.

I agree, I don’t think it’s strange at all. Just wondered if other parents had received them and what theirs would be like in comparison.

We got a letter from school about these educational tiers a couple of weeks ago. I think school must have some influence on deciding the rota’s in tier 2. Would like to know at what point these tiers come in to effect.
