Local events

How is your local area doing events and would you go to them?

We've got a film festival in the old train station which is open air (might be a bit cold) and a scaled down version of the Christmas market (only 12 stalls and performers etc, late night shopping) also the students have marquees with comedy shows etc- all in keeping with the rule of 6 and 10pm curfew.

I'm unsure whether will go to the films as might be a bit cold (unless heating) but will probably do the Christmas market. It might be nice it being less busy this year.

Also there is a live music venue open with small tables (was like that anyway) which may be nice

All the events here have been cancelled - Christmas markets, light switch on etc.

(Small town in tier 1)

Forgot to add whether I would go to them if they weren't cancelled.. tbh probably not, though as a family we aren't really going anywhere.

I'm feeling a bit guilty as looking forward to some of these being nice and quiet as it usually gets extremely busy (touristy city) they are doing it for the locals basically

Everything, Christmas market, panto, fireworks, markets, lights, cancelled.

Back in August, There was a drive-in (groups stay in cars) film event in the town park.
DS did a cycling sportive recently (with DH).
Some of the cycling club runs are still happening (within rule of 6).
Most cycling events are very cancelled.
I don't see other things being advertised so I assume mostly nothing is happening.
Tier 1 rural area.

@Orangeblossom7777 don't feel guilty.
The only thing I'd worry about is, how will they actual monitor it? Surely people will travel from all over to go? I think this is why our town has cancelled everything, because they wouldn't be able to keep it just 'local'. We already have people from all the tier 2 & 3 areas surrounding us visiting to do shopping & have a day out.

This is the kind of thing they are doing here. How they seem to be trying to make it work. Doing stuff for the students too.

It is mainly tier 1 all round here, think nearest places with more restrictions would be Wales, Midlands and London. We do usually get visitors on coaches from Wales (lot of them!) but guess they won't be here this year.
