So DD (first year at university) tested positive on 8th October. She really wants to come home tomorrow - it will have been 15 days since test day and she has been faithfully quarantined since then, with a few extra days added to the required 10 for luck. I still feel a little nervous about her coming home, it'll be fine wont it? there is no way she can still be infectious can she? Really want to see her....

No she’s fine to come home. As long as she doesn’t still have any fever. She might still have a cough but that can linger for a while without meaning you are infectious. Enjoy her visit 😊

Does she still have symptoms? If yes, then I'd give it til 21 days. If she's recovered it should be fine.

She has always been symptom free, as were the other 4 in her house. She never had a cold, cough, didnt even feel unwell.

Then I'm sure 14 days will be enough.

My best friend waited 14 days and was still showing as positive on the 15th day. Maybe get a test before she comes home if possible?

Thing is, some people test positive for months. Doesnt mean they're infectious - the test reacts to fragments of virus, alive or dead.
