Cold or covid?

Now I realise this may be a silly question. Primary school aged DD has come home from school with a temp, sore throat, headache & blocked nose. Seems just like a cold. Assume we all need to self isolate until I get her tested? DS not happy as taking mock exams.

Yes, sorry you do.
Hope your dd feels better soon and that you get a test quickly and 8t is negative.

Unfortunately it may be half term before you get the results.

BlueBlanketMum · 19/10/2020 19:05

Yes, the temperature means she needs testing and The other symptoms are very common with Covid even though they aren’t the ones you are told to look for. Self isolating for you all until the test results are back.

Useruseruserusee · 19/10/2020 19:06

Yes you need to get a test due to the temperature.

PracticingPerson · 19/10/2020 19:06

The only way to tell is a test. That's the trouble with Covid.

It is a blow for your other child with mocks but a temperature needs a test.

Ok thanks. I think I knew the answer but needed confirmation. My DS is treating us as if we are the worst family in the world. Teenagers 🤦‍♀️

He'll be able to catch up on the mocks he's missing when he goes back. That's normally the system anyway in a lot of schools, and I can't imagine any school that would refuse that in the current climate.

Fingers crossed the test comes back negative, but those are very common symptoms of covid so be prepared for it to be positive (ie, get a good delivery booked for when you're going to run out)
