My best friends mam had to isolate as her best friend tested positive. She's mid 60s with health conditions. She said it was like a heavy cold and recovered in a week. I know 6 or 7 others that have either had no symptoms or cold/flu like. There have been around 40 cases at my DPs work, all different ages, no hospitalisations so far.

Thank you so much for your positive reply. I have health anxiety anyway and this has tipped me over the edge Sad

I spoke to a 79 year old the other day who has fully recovered.

Chosennone · 19/10/2020 20:09

I know a 91 yr old who has recovered. Short stay in hospital and now ok. Lots of underlying issues.
I know 2 people linked to the case above. Late 60s. Asymptomatic.

My mum is 72, she’s just recovered from it. She had a scratchy throat and felt like she had a cold. She’s now on day 11 after positive test.
Take care

Father in law 69 was positive. Had fatigue and loss of taste and sense of smell only. Only had these symptoms for 2-3 days only.

MamaMiaMama · 20/10/2020 06:15

Thank you everyone. I actually feel okay just like I have a cold just worried in case I get worse

My Aunt and Uncle have both just had it, it's 14 days since their positive results came through. They're both 73. My Aunt has COPD so obviously we were all very worried. They were tested because my Uncle had a cough, hardly worth worrying about but my Aunts COPD specialist was worried so recommended they were both tested. My Aunt has not had a single symptom apart from feeling more tired than usual, my Uncle had the cough for about 4 days and that was it for both of them.

Grandmother was positive for 9 weeks, she’s 90, has lung disease, dementia and a blood disorder, was perfectly fine throughout, no temp, no cough, not even cold symptoms.

I try to tell this story as often as possible when people are worried. I had it. I have two underlying health conditions, one of which causes trouble breathing, and I’m on immunosuppressants, and I came through just fine, without being hospitalized. I admit, I did have a tough cough for a bit, but nowhere near the trouble my consultant was afraid I would have.

MamaMiaMama · 20/10/2020 19:57

@RightYesButNo so lovely to read your story and glad that you are better. How long ago did you have it and are you completely recovered from it now

@MamaMiaMama I had to all the way back in March, during the “initial wave,” if you sort of view when it first started and then around now as the highest points. My symptoms did last a little longer than the two weeks it called for (around four weeks), but I’m well over it now, though they’re wondering if it’s had some effect on the flares from my disease, but that’s a bit of mystery so far; could take years of study to be sure.

Isadora2007 · 20/10/2020 22:44

My 73 year old mum has it and is doing fine. She didn’t think she had it. Just tested to shut me up I think. Main symptom loss of taste and smell. Has been tired and a bit run down too but not unwell really at all.

Hope your ok very soon xx
