Child isolating

Hi, my 8yr old needs to isolate for 14 days as a child had tested positive in his class. He usually sees his dad twice a week. Does anyone know if he can still do this? I know the government valued children staying in contact with both parents but not sure if a period or isolation overrides this?

Can anyone help?

I saw a similar thread in here a few days back, and believe the general consensus was, in terms of tier/ lockdown restrictions, still seeing both families was fine, but if needing to isolate, the child needs to stay in their 'main' home.

I'm sorry @TheresGotToBeMoreToLife. My DD has just finished 14 days of isolation and it was tough.

The letter we got was very clear that she could not leave the house unless it was to use the back garden. I would interpret that to mean she cannot stay with her Dad. Can you arrange for him to have extra time at the end of the 14 days?

I find very contradictory information on the internet about this. It does seem you can find whatever you wish to search for!

To be honest my son's dad wouldnt be bothered about missing time with our son, and sadly that's the way he's always been so he certainly wouldnt be interested in making up time later.

I run payroll and have to arrange pay for 200 people next week so am really concerned about working from home throughout and asked my ex husband for some help.

No sorry, isolation means not leaving the house or seeing anyone. Otherwise what’s the point of him isolating?
