Rules on leaving the house if positive

What are they? Friend has just tested positive and is still planning on walking her dogs, keeping distance from people.

Both of my children were not allowed to leave the house (under instruction from public health) because they had been in a classroom with someone who tested positive. So why would people who actually have the virus, not just been exposed to it be allowed?

They're not, unless to receive medical attention.

You don't. End of.

You’re not meant to and could be fined. We’re isolating due to T&T text and awaiting test results due to being having symptoms too. We’re not going anywhere. Had to have someone collect and drop off a prescription and milk.

Absolutely No!! I tested positive and didn’t walk my dog for over one full week until I was completely better. I didn’t even let anyone else walk him incase there were traces of the virus from me on him. It was a week out of his whole life and he was fine! We have a garden so it was easier, I do feel for people without though.

I think this is the one point that everybody understands the rules on now. There aren't different rules for dog owners.

Thanks everyone, I will let her know it’s absolutely not ok. She doesn’t have a garden but her dogs are old and struggle on walks anyway, so not the end of the world to miss a week.
