Hi We've just found out that we're moving from tier one to tier two, high. I go to a weekly art group and I'm wondering if I can continue to go. We keep to two groups of six and we all follow social distancing rules keeping apart, wearing masks, washing hands, using sanitiser, washing tables and chairs down after use etc

This is what the govt website says for tier 2 high
You must not meet socially with friends and family indoors in any setting unless you live with them or have formed a support bubblee_ with them. This includes private homes, and any other indoor venues such as pubs and restaurants

Then there this which might apply to my art group
Other activities, such as indoor exercise classes and other activity groups can only continue provided that households or support bubbles do not mix. Where it is likely that groups will mix, these activities must not go ahead.

What do people advise?

[quote RedMarauder]OP there is an exception for education and support groups of up to 15 participants as long as it doesn't take place in a private dwelling

If your art group has a teacher, you'd be OK under education. More difficult to demonstrate that if it's a self-led group.

However the fact that they've bothered to state:
"Other activities, such as indoor exercise classes and other activity groups can only continue provided that households or support bubbles do not mix. Where it is likely that groups will mix, these activities must not go ahead."
suggests that they are expecting these to continue, and that you are OK, depending on the definition of "mix".

They are suggesting that a larger group can go ahead, provided people in one household/bubble do not socialise with people in another. If you're all sitting at least 2m apart busily drawing/painting and talking only about the subject matter, are you "mixing"?
