Felt really tired since Monday and it's not improved. Also have a slightly runny nose. DC have had cases at school but in different year groups but could be asymptomatic? Not sure if I should get a test as no temperature or cough.

You have none of the symptoms so no.

I think if you wanted to get a test you would have to pay for a private one. You can only have an nhs test if you have a new cough, temperature or loss of taste of smell.

I'm in a similar boat, feeling really run down, have a sore throat and headache but none of the main symptoms. Ds seems fine but waiting to hear if they have positive cases in his class.

We are just going with the approach of reducing our movements even further, going out as little as possible and upping our hand washing/mask wearing even more because without the main symptoms you can't get a test.

Please no. Leave testing for people with symptoms. It's not rocket science.

No !!!!

Feeling run down could be for a multiple of reasons.
If your menstruating could be iron
Lack of sun
SAD
Diet
Change to daily activity
A cold
and more.

For me, the run down stuff came after I'd gotten over the main symptoms of cv.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
• a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
• a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
• a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

If you have one of these, get a test. If you haven't, don't.

No. You have no symptoms and you're tired. You're tired. I mean... That's it! Tired isn't ill

Illberidingshotgun · 15/10/2020 11:26

What would you click on to get the test? You have to click on symptoms or say you don't have them, and then indicate why you are requesting one (essential worker etc ). You'd have to lie to get the test, would you feel comfortable doing so?

Sounds like you have a mild cold virus or there could be many reasons for tiredness, inf it persists then see your GP

AcornAutumn · 15/10/2020 15:36

no. leave them for people with symptoms.

Porcupineinwaiting · 15/10/2020 15:48

I'd wait and see if anything develops. If you test too early or too late it will come back as negative.

I'd say no BUT I reported that I had aches and pains and fatigue (I also entered that Id just had the flu vaccination) on the Covid ZOE app and got invited for a test......
