My son at uni has corona we have now found out. He was locked down in his flat as one of his flat mates had symptoms, but at the point we went to see him he had no symptoms and wasn't unwell.

How a dad and I took a Tesco shop to him and left it outside his flat of his halls-we wore masks the entire time on campus-and he didn't come out-we waved through the glass.
He had left his washing basket and some hand sanitizer outside-I throughly sanitised the sides of the basket and took his washing to the launderette in the basement. Waited while his clothes washed and took them back up to his door and left them outside. Sanitised hands and came home.
They have now all had positive rest results.
I'm wondering-do I need to isolate or is all fine as we didn't come into contact with him.

If you didn’t come into contact with him you don’t need to isolate. There’s a small chance from the washing but very small if you sanitised.

You didn't come into contact with him.

You don’t need to isolate.

Hmm not so sure.. you say they have ALL tested positive ?

You were inside his halls of residence and went to the basement. Did you not touch any doors on the way down there ? Did you use a washing machine ie by touching the knobs or dials ? Covid as you know is airborne in droplets and remains for several hours/days.

Having been in the space of so many people with Covid many of whom will not exhibit any symptoms, I would self isolate.

It's a gamble isn't it ? But if there is a chance you have it - that's a gamble with someone else's health... and caution really is the ONLY way to slow this thing down.

So Bringingonbackthegoodtimes that was meant for you and forgot to tag .

@Bailey0703
So his apoartment is in a block, his appartment consist of 8 young adults-all positive. His apparent has been locked down not the block and obvs all the communal spaces are still in use by the rest of the blocks inhabitants.
Obviously touched doors and washing machine but sanitised immediately after each-wore a mask the whole time.

You don’t need to isolate. I’d just be vigilant about keeping an eye out for symptoms and maybe limit the amount you go out just in case.

Did you touch his actual
Laundry?
