anxious about covid

so every day at lunch time I have lunch and walk with my colleague (15mins walk and around 10mins to eat) on Friday it was raining so we sat and had lunch together stupidly not 2 metres apart and now my colleague has covid - inhave to self isolate. Literally the only time we had lunch less than 2 metres apart.

Anyway I feel really bad letting down my other colleagues but also really anxious that I might get it. Its been 72 hours now since I seen her - is it wrong to think I might be in the clear. Obviously I will continue to isolate for 14 days but I really hope I've been lucky and missed getting it

Yes, I hope you do not fall ill.

But it's a salutary reminder that precautions need to be diligent and every time

Covidcovidcovid · 12/10/2020 20:35

I know, her husband doesn't have it either and she says he's fine and full.of energy.

I actually have a sore head but I'm.quite anxious so could be that making it sore

Unfortunately you’re not in the clear. You will need to wait the full 14 days. Why did you not distance?

hamstersarse · 12/10/2020 20:38

Do you have any underlying health conditions?

If not, it will probably be no worse than a bad cold. I had it recently and if there hadn't been a media onslaught about it, I wouldn't really have thought anything of it.

The self isolation on the other hand...Angry

PracticingPerson · 12/10/2020 20:43

Oh poor you, you will be worried.

Try to rest as much as you can and good luck Flowers

We didnt distance as there wasn't any space- there is never any which is why we always go a walk but we just slipped up on Friday, friday feeling,it was wet etc - we are only human and mistakes happen.

I have asthma and get bad chest infections.

Are you taking viramin d?

hahoohayou · 12/10/2020 21:14

That is really unfortunate OP.

I hope you manage to escape it, but all you can do now is isolate for 14 days.

Keep us updated.

Porcupineinwaiting · 12/10/2020 21:18

It's a little eay to think/hope you are in the clear I'm afraid. 3-5 days after exposure is the commonest timeframe to show symptoms but it can take longer.

Good luck Flowers

@op

My son has asthma and gets chest infections often at this time of year. I realise he has age on his side (18) but he has just transitted Covid with no issues at all too. He didn't get breathless and no asthma worsening or anything.

We have been supplementing Vitamin D for a long time (4000 IU per day except in high summer)

Covidcovidcovid · 13/10/2020 11:13
