Can different households still meet in public indoor settings for example cafe etc?

Sorry if I'm missing the obvious!

Whats a childcare bubble. Grandparents provide childcare for us to work. We are tier 1 them tier .

Devlesko · 12/10/2020 22:26

Lily

Was sure it was council website, will look for a source. Thanks

tootiredtospeak · 12/10/2020 22:28

Also our doctors are tier 2 but we are tier 1 as cross border. I have a flu jab booked surely I can go to that?

majesticallyawkward · 12/10/2020 22:29

@WearyandBleary the rules are (as given on the bbc news site look up):

'You can still go on holiday outside your local area, but you should only do this with people you live with (or have formed a support bubble with). '

So you can go, provided you aren't in a tier 3 area, but can't mix with anyone else while there.

A bit crap but it's her in the mirror and what we've had until now.

Would anyone be able to answer this please. My friend is a tutor in a tier 2 area. Can he still go into homes and tutor kids? In his area before this, he could as it was for ‘training and education purposes’. He’s not sure now and can’t find an answer. Confused

That’s made me feel really sad for you. 😔 I hope you can find a solution and your parents get to see your little one. It’s so hard.

KLF6 · 12/10/2020 23:00

I don’t think we could mix with any other household in any setting last week but seems falling into Tier 2 has lifted this and the rule of 6 applies outside.

LilyPond2 · 12/10/2020 23:09

Thanks @Devlesko. Yes, rule on meeting in gardens is a relaxation here too. Always thought that was a particularly stupid rule when pubs are still open.

RedPandaFluff · 12/10/2020 23:09

Thank you, @BadTattoosAndSmellLikeBooze - I keep telling myself that it's for the greater good, and there has been silver linings (DH working from home etc.) but I'm definitely having a whiny selfish moment right now Sad

I took this screenshot to remind myself! From the gov website

It may be for the greater good but it’s still a rubbish situation for you and your family so I think you are entitled to a bit of a moan. I really hope you work something out, I bet your parents are upset too.

Legislation that is being be dated and voted on tomorrow has been published.

Basic gist is that if you live in a Tier 2 area you cannot meet anyone from another household (unless support bubble) indoors. Even if yo7 travel to a tier 1 area.

Sorry for crossing out, MN did that automatically when I pasted and don't know how to fix it.

"Participation in gatherings indoors

(a) consists of two or more people, and
(b) takes place indoors.
Regulation 3

Participation in gatherings outdoors

I don't think you can continue to tutor in other households as this is mixing.
Most I know including dh have gone online from March. He didn't go to their houses though, he has a home studio, they came here.

ChristmasCantComeSoonEnough · 13/10/2020 16:04

Actually I think it is just social mixing that is not allowed indoors. You can still work and children can still receive education so I would think you would be fine. Do you have a professional body or insurance body you could consult?

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 13/10/2020 16:29

One of the exceptions is “for the purposes of education” so yes, tutoring still allowed. And working in homes generally, like being a cleaner or a nanny

Devlesko · 13/10/2020 16:29

I know the unions aren't interested in supporting those visiting homes, and dh insurance would be void as the law says we can't mix households.
If you are visiting someone in their home you are mixing households, it's a home not a business premise.
Check your public liability insurance.
