Childcare exemption?

Anyone heard anything about whether the "no mixing" of households means childcare as well? I have a family member supposed to be looking after DS in half term while I work.

@Clearasmuddypuddles
Completely agree with you.

I just think that if you are one household for childcare purposes then you are one household full stop. It doesn't make much sense otherwise. My brain is battered.

Hang on think I’ve got it...

It says the exemption applies to linked households... see paragraph 7. Paragraph 7 is the linked households of single people. Paragraph 8 is linked childcare households so I assume they are not exempt from the households mixing rules, unless they are providing informal childcare at the time.

"they have yet again forgotten that some children are not capable of looking after themselves at 13 due to disabilities. twats. My 14 year old can not be left due to her disability."

My 15 year old can't either. I would consider it care of a vulnerable person which has always been allowed.

Interested in this, I am 39 weeks pregnant, now in Tier 2, and have a few friends "on call" for when I go into labour for childcare so my partner can come with me to the hospital. I presume this would be okay under "informal" childcare but obviously as I'm not going to work (and helping the economy Wink), as long as my friends aren't supplying childcare to other households if I read the link correctly... does anyone interpret this?

As would I.

@neveradullmoment99 do you understand that some people have no choice?

Not all grandparents are elderly either. My mum is 51.
