Got a recent notification through the Covid app that I've had contact with a positve case of Covid and I need to isolate.

Colleague has recently tested positive and so I assume its on the back of her diagnosis, and if it is I'm not concerned as we were wearing PPE at all times we were in contact, however I cant be sure it is it could be from anywhere! Work (NHS!!!!) are saying I need to attend work as normal. I have patient contact with elderly people and medically vulnerable children. What the hell? Is it any wonder this virus is out of control. Is this normal?!

Occuaptional health havent told me anything, it's my line manager who has been liaising with them. And yes I think the notification is probably down to my colleague's result but I can't know for sure and neither can they. We have full ppe and distanced tea breaks. Ive been very strict with sticking to the guidelines, but there is a high incidence in my city.

Thanks to those who suggested getting clarification in writing I will do this.

We have been told not have the app running whilst at work. We also will be told not to isolate as we wear ppe. - although how they can be sure we did/ didn’t get it from patients or will/ won’t pass it on before symptoms show I don’t know

Just turn off bluetooth whilst in work. Given you say you have been very careful to stick to guidelines, I don't see how it could be anything but your colleague that has prompted this notification. However your work are of course in the wrong here.
