Does the government know/plan for non compliance?

Just curious really as to whether it plays a part in their plans? I know it did with the first lockdown and the timing was based around the behavioural scientists and fear / value judgements etc.

What about now though? When you read on here and on Facebook etc so many people saying they won't abide by the rules, they've had enough etc and I wonder if that plays a part in the restriction planning or if it's just being ignored by government?

I've been wondering whether we actually just need to ensure the current rules are followed rather than tightening them further. If people are non compliant tighter rules won't affect them so it is the compliant who presumably are not spreading the virus that will be affected

Yes, they allow for that (they've be beyond dim not to, after seeing what happens amongst MPs and advisers)

The higher the compliance, the swifter and more sustained the fall in transmission. They are counting on a high enough proportion of us being able to act in a whole-community minded way.

And I suspect they'll get it. Because the awkward squad are way more apparent online than in RL

The scientists have to factor in human behaviour. That's why it pisses me off when Johnson starts faffing on about British common sense.

People will be people

The percentage of compliance is heavily centred around the degree of enforcement. If rules aren't enforced more people break them.

Public health experts, epidemiologists etc. - yes they do. Governments...well hopefully they take their advice.

Yes, maybe non compliance is over represented online compared to real life. Maybe the behavioural scientists know that as well. Although, if that is the case, transmission would have slowed by now surely?
