What are you doing for Halloween this year (if you normally do something)?

Dc are wondering what this Halloween will be like. It's normally a big thing in our house. This year I am planning on decorating as normal, Halloween party tea, Halloween movie night and there's a local treasure hunt type thing where you get a map and search for decorated houses. It will only be our household as we are in greater Manchester so not able to mix but I'll make it as fun as possible. We don't do trick or treating anyway but wheats welcome people who do. This year will be strange. What are your plans?

Pumpkin trail, Pumpkin picking, spooky tea, Halloween films, games at home pumpkin piñata, pin nose on witch, pass the parcel pumpkin, some sort of craft. Halloween baking. Pretty much everything we would usually do except we won’t have my nieces and nephews for the party.

Carve a pumpkin or three with my boy. Decorate the front of the house only - no party. Trick or treaters welcome but socially distanced, of course.

We always do pumpkins and Halloween baking. I'm going to try a chocolate brownie cheesecake this year and do a spiders web decoration on top. And bat biscuits. Not made of bats obviouslyGrin

I'm going to print out and laminate some pumpkins (and possibly other Halloween stuff) and go hide them around the neighbourhood.
We will go on a night walk with torches and every time he finds one he gets a sweet or something.

I may do a map to make them a bit easier to find

I'm going to post it on that "next door" app so other people around here can do it.

We will also carve pumpkins, get dressed up, and I'll probably leave a tub of sweets on the front step with some hand sanitizer for those who are still doing trick or treating

Will be following this thread for other ideas 😊

My local farm are doing a halloween trail and pumpkin patch so have booked that. Spooky walk in the woods and Halloween films. Maybe some baking too. I love Halloween, they better not lock the country down!

Going away for the weekend so I don't have to deal with it! We usually trick or treat and the kids plan their costumes for months. We get about 100+ trick or treaters to the door. I don't want the hassle of negotiating do we or don't we trick or treat, do we decorate if we aren't joining in, do we put stuff out for people but not go out ourselves, and how to deal with kids being annoyed that others are out when they aren't allowed to. So we are going away for the weekend and negating the whole debate (obviously it isn't the whole reason we are going away but it was a big motivator)

We’re not doing much but dd wants to make a pumpkin pie and we’ll watch a scary film. Kids can have sweets.

We are going to a local farm to pick a pumpkin on the Friday. Then on Saturday we are going on a pumpkin trail round the park, DS will dress up for it. Putting a few decorations up and making a pumpkin pie and watching a spooky film.

We only have the one DC, usually I take her trick or treating with friends locally, but don't want to do that this year. We've decided to put our ceramic pumpkin up indoors and do a treats hunt in our very small house, in the dark with torches, and have a scary movie with Halloween food and drink. She's 11 so we're thinking Beetlejuice and Corpse Bride.

We're hoping to do a spooky trail / afternoon tea at a local hotel.

Instead of trick or treating I've bought 60 LED spooky rings and cellophane bags and I'm going to peg them to a washing line attached to the hedge outside with a sign telling people to help themselves. We don't get many trick or treaters but it's a busy through road so hoping people will spot them.
