New three level system??

Does anyone understand the difference between these levels?
It says level two will be triggered when local restrictions have not contained the virus, which I assume means they mean local lock downs are already in place which haven’t done what they hoped.
But then moving to level 3 states it’s for when transmission rates increased and level two has not contained the virus.
Isn’t this just the same thing?
Does that just mean national lockdown is level 3?

They haven't officially announced these yet, so I'm assuming you're talking about the 'leaked' ones that are floating around? My understanding is that level one is for local areas where cases are over, e.g. 50 cases per 100,000, level 2 kicks in when level 1 hasn't helped, and numbers have gone over e.g. 200 per 100,000. Level 3 then kicks in when Level 2 still isn't helping, and numbers have gone out of control. None of them relate to a national lockdown, they are all levels for local lockdowns. (I'm using example numbers because I don't know what they'll use exactly - I have seen numbers on some of the versions floating around though)

In the Daily Fail it looked like they were using over 50 cases per 100,000 for the level 3, I’m sure that can’t be right as it looked like at least half the country, I live in the East Midlands and we have about 75 per 100,000 so that would include us.

Not sure how you would know which tier you were in without weekly listings as surely it will change each week for some

It's a leaked report so not definite. I would think as the days go by leading up to the announcment, the rules might be adjusted in line with the latest data

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 09/10/2020 15:12

Level 3 of the leaked tiers does not refer to a total lockdown.

Have you not even read what the leaked information says about the tiers?

1Pinkfluffyelephant · 09/10/2020 15:35

@Itsabeautifuldayheyhey no I haven’t read into it too much being that it hasn’t actually been officially announced. I just saw someone on social media share the image! Hence why I was wondering if people had seen it and asked what other peoples take was on it.

I've heard that Level 3 involves evacuating everyone from the affected area by making them walk through a human sized version of a sheep dip, fencing the whole area off and then dropping several nukes.

In about 100 years, following decontamination, they'll open up the land for affordable housing.

@Buckwheat80 brilliant. I take it that was also punished in the daily fail ??

Nothing would surprise me, seeing as they can make it illegal to see your own family!!! At least actual sheep can congregate in a field together.
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/10/2020 18:49

Back at the beginning before lockdown I told someone I work with that management were planning on installing a giant sheep dip at the entrance to the office and they believed me!

IndecentFeminist · 09/10/2020 18:54

However if you are in an area with fewer than say 10 cases per 100,000 surely you drop off even level 1?
