Are you funding you can forecast those who need to isolate?

We're in a low risk area and so far have only had one case among the staff. We've done the covid secure thing, he did what he needed to do and almost 2 weeks on there's no sign of any further case among people he worked with (fingers crossed).

We do however, have a number of people at other sites who are isolating because either they or family members have symptoms and are awaiting test results.

Of course they are doing the right thing and must isolate in these circumstances but isn't it strange how they're the one's with generally less good attendance records? Grin

To be clear I'm not really criticising them, it must be hard when faced with minor coughs and colds to know what to do for the best, but every one so far would have been on the list if I'd had to forecast it.

Hmm

Well what you rather they do? Turn up with symptoms? Risk infecting people?

DailyLotion · 07/10/2020 20:39

Of course not, I said that. I just think it's curious.

I agree.

I work in the NHS and I would be a rich woman if I had bet money on who would have to isolate (several times in some cases).

Cynical, moi ? You fucking betcha.

DailyLotion · 07/10/2020 20:43

It's also curious how the genuine case result was back within 24 hours and the isolating people's tests seem to take days Grin

So true!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 07/10/2020 20:56

Yes, you definitely can predict. It's always the same flipping staff.....

I'm in the NHS and some have stepped up and been incredible since it started, some have taken every opportunity to work the system.

When it first started and no one could get a test, the same people had to isolate regularly. Then when testing was easy things settled down because anyone symptomatic could be tested easily and quickly and then return to work.

Sadly people do play the system and it is incredibly frustrating.

NHS household here - was just mulling over who of DHs colleagues will definitely be isolating instead of doing their turn at Christmas.....

MrsGradyOldLady · 07/10/2020 20:58

Haha we said exactly the same at work today! The person we just KNEW would be the first one to need to isolate us now on his 3rd self isolation. Which considering he was furloughed for 4 months is almost impressive Grin

Chaotic45 · 07/10/2020 21:55

@AnyFucker your honesty is so refreshing!

OP I know exactly what you mean.

DH worked his ass off during lockdown, for a reduced wage. Most of his colleagues were furloughed.

His first job after returning was dealing with the furloughed colleagues who wanted to book their missed annual leave, and owed days. Some had actually managed to take holidays whilst on furlough, then booked time off and went on more holidays. Meanwhile DH has slogged and slogged and slogged.

Yes, he should probably have made a stand but he's a grafter.

It now looks like his job is a lot more secure than those on furlough, he's had a pay rise, whilst a good percentage of the others are being made redundant.

Different people are more susceptible to illness, those most susceptible to illness are the people who will get ill, and therefore be the people who have more days off sick, they will also be the people to be more likely to get ill and therefore have a symptom that leads them to isolate.

Your insinuation is horrible.
