Hi,

My partner has tested positive so we have to isolate until 15/10 so 11 days to go woo! But anyway I feel terrible on my little boy he has plenty of toys we’ve done drawing he’s easily bored of course due to his age but is there anything else anyone can suggest that we can do for him you’re not allowed to go for walks and we don’t have a garden we can go in. I just feel awful for him I know we’re all going to be bored but we understand the reasoning behind it.

Any help would be great 😊

My 20 month old loves sitting in the shower tray with the water running at a dribble with a few cups/bowls/spoons and doing water play. He can be in there for 20-30 minutes sometimes!

He also loves helping me with household tasks- loading the washing machine can take 15 minutes, then he likes to sit on my lap and watch the washing slowly get wetter and wetter, the bubbles starting etc.
He loves a broom!
Pom-poms and empty (clean) milk bottle with some kitchen tongs/spoon/bowls mega hit too.

You have my sympathy, this was us until last Friday!

DS liked - the bubble machine, a paddling pool full of balls in the back room, a lot of baths, mega blocks, finger painting (Google will help you make edible ones) and more TV than usual.

He also likes dancing like a maniac to cheesy 80s music...but that might just be him.

Baking - rice crispie cakes are fun and messy :)
Treasure hunt in house - like an Easter egg hunt
Make a den with clothes horse and sheets and read books in it
Extended bath time
More TV than you would usually allow
Make tidying up and cleaning into a game

I think you are way overthinking this it’s only two weeks. Thousands of toddlers were in shielding families for over five months not leaving the house and were fine.
Just carry on with the usual indoor activities, crafts, messy play, reading, playing with his regular toys, food colouring in the bath for water play. Pots and pans for drums etc. CBeebies and Peppa pig. Make indoor tents, bake cakes.
He won’t be bored he has you and his dad.

Could someone come and take the baby out for a walk for you so he gets fresh air? Could you get him ready in the pram so the other person doesn't need to touch the baby and the other person maybe wear a mask when pushing the pram and anti bac the pram handle before and after use? I know It's not technically allowed
