I'm sure it's the greatest drug the world has ever seen.
Anything in the British press about it? It's called Regeneron I think.

Regeneron and remdesivir apparently. All the rrrs for the arse in chief.

@Itsabeautifuldayheyhey

Aspirin is probaby given to everyone as a blood thinner as clots, strokes and heart attacks are associated with Covid. It doesn't mean he has anything wrong with his heart.

I think they said he'd had a procedure for his heart and/or is on heart meds on the news last night.

tobee · 03/10/2020 17:44

Sorry meant to say procedure a few years ago.

Dancingwithdaftness · 03/10/2020 17:46

So it's really just a cocktail of existing drugs rather than any groundbreaking new drug?

Regeneron is the name of the pharmaceutical company.
thd medicine mr trump is allegedly receiving REGN-COV2 ANTIBODY COCKTAIL , a medicine which is currently undergoing clinical trials before the official approval process.

Dancingwithdaftness · 03/10/2020 17:48

I can't imagine him being the nicest patient to have to deal with?

OP posts:

Just as he tried out hydroxychloroquine earlier in the year, I suspect he had heard about this antibody cocktail trial, and when he became ill, he insisted he try it out! I can't imagine it would have been his doctors who recommended it.

OddBoots · 03/10/2020 17:58

Well I hope if the treatment works it will be given to all US citizens as standard...

There seems to be a lot of confusion here. Regeneron is the name of the company. The name of the trial drug, for now, is REGN-COV2. All it has in it is two monoclonal antibodies. He has had one 8g treatment of it.

Separately, Trump is taking the following drugs which are NOT part of Regeneron’s treatment: zinc, vitamin D, melatonin, a daily aspirin and the histamine-blocker famotidine.

Here’s the info that he’s taking those additional drugs and that he had the 8g treatment from Regeneron:
www.cnbc.com/2020/10/02/white-house-reveals-trumps-coronavirus-treatment-says-he-is-fatigued-but-in-good-spirits.html

Here is the information that REGN-COV2 contains two monoclonal antibodies, that 8g is considered a high dose, and everything else you might want to know about the trial:
investor.regeneron.com/news-releases/news-release-details/regenerons-regn-cov2-antibody-cocktail-reduced-viral-levels-and

Apparently he got it through “compassionate” grounds which is usually a lengthy appeal process, and wouldn’t be available to most Americans suffering from the disease. Like the over 200,000 dead due to his ineffective leadership.

He’s also on remdesivir. Here’s the link for that:
www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/president-trump-covid-19-positive-test-latest-news-2020-10-03/

He’s apparently “fever-free” now so there goes the chance that he’ll go through the suffering and he’s put 4.99 million Americans through. Fucking orange twatwaffle.

Google says Regeneron is a pharmaceutical that has developed a combination of two antivirals against covid sars 2. This antiviral is already on clinical trials.
I do hope that this works! An efficient antiviral will be game changing.
