Basically that, had them for two weeks and shes due back tomorrow requiring to isolate.

Will they need to stay at ours another 2? May be a dumb question....

Depends, will they be able to get themselves to school and that kind of thing if their mum can't leave the house?

Isitrainingihadntnoticed · 01/10/2020 20:49

Yes, they walk to school etc.

I think so, yes. After all she's supposed to be isolating not just 'staying in the house'. IF she has caught covid and the children are with her and they're attending school they could become positive and infect others at school.

She has to isolate. That means she doesn't see other people unnecessarily. The fact that these children have a Father and StepMum to take care of them means she doesn't need to see them. It is unfair to expect these kids to fend for themselves for two weeks when they have other parents that can step in.

If she has to isolate because she's coming back from a red zone country and you send the children back to her then surely they have to take part in the isolation too? Unless she's planning to live completely separately from them for the isolation period, which doesn't seem likely.

Isitrainingihadntnoticed · 01/10/2020 20:57

No, she will happily go two weeks without seeing them.i think? She has two other kids she took with her on holiday.

So I guess they will stay here?

Only those who travelled need to isolate, the rest of the household can come and go as normal. So if the dc can go to school without her leaving the house then there's no reason why they cant be back with her.

No, they do not need to isolate too, in the same way I wouldn't have to if a child of mine was sent home because another in their bubble tested positive.
