How would a vaccine change your behaviour?

I think I would get it relatively early, as I’m in a vulnerable group.

Because I’m in a vulnerable group, there are things I’m allowed to do but choosing not to, such as non-essential shopping and sitting in coffee shops. OK, I’ve done a bit, but nowhere near as often as normal. And you are not getting me in a pub or restaurant for love nor money, not with what I’ve glanced through windows.

But once I have been vaccinated and allowed the advised time for it to become effective, I will start doing all of these things with gay abandon.

I will still wear a mask.
I will still sanitise my hands.
I will still keep my distance.

But I will have a lot more fun, and make a bigger contribution to the economy.

I’m vulnerable too but not particularly scared of the virus. I’m still being careful now but once I have the vaccine I’ll get back to normal pretty much (will still wear a mask in public if needed).

Ultimately depends what you can and can't do anyway. If there was a big concert on tomorrow night of a band I love, and it was allowed, then i'd go and take the risk, but as it is it's against the law to even sing in a pub now.

Most things I enjoy socially are either off limits or joyless anyway with all the restrictions, so I don't really bother going anywhere.

I’m not sure if it’s clear the Oxford vaccine in particular stops you carrying and passing the disease on so I don’t think it would change my behaviour much in the short term.

Long term when a decent chunk of the population had received it I’ll be throwing an epic party!

My cousin (lives abroad) is just recovering from confirmed covid. Her big plan is getting on a airplane & she's asking around for destination ideas. Would not have done that before when she presumed she had zero immunity. For me, vaccine would make no difference. My behaviour is entirely governed by control measures.

I'd carry on following the guidelines issued by my state's CDC and governor, seeing as they seem to be working pretty well so far.
