Been back at work 6 weeks (teacher). Now off again having to do a 3rd test on the kids. High temp twice and cough once. I feel like there is no point using childcare as everytime youngest gets a temp(lots it seems as it goes up with every tooth coming too.....) older brother is out of school and we isolate too :-(. But if I take him out of nursery I have to quit work which I can't even do til xmas due to giving notice. My boss is fuming and thinks nursery are ott but they are just following guidelines. My special leave days will run out fast then when it happens again we'll bring paying nursery when we aren't earning to cover it.

Needed to rant :-(. Feels like no solution other than hoping for a quicker test soon...... and yet anyone I speak to it seems aren't even isolating for household cases? I thought it was illegal not to.

@Blulorry I think the issue is that parents where I work don't appear to be struggling or testing etc so it looks like I'm the issue not the guidelines!!! (whether their chn haven't had symptoms or they just haven't said they have is another matter).

If I'm being completely honest- if he was at a relatives instead of nursery and they said he had a slight temp for less than 2 hours while obviously drooling and chewing his hand, teeth popping through...... I would probably not be testing him. I would say it is a waste of resources.

Maybe you have been unlucky! My DS missed his first week and a half at school. He’s only had 6 days at school so far because he was exposed to a positive case in his bubble so he has to stay at home for 14 days! Meanwhile I’ve had to take time off my boss is great though. I hope your in a union OP just in case you need them Flowers

oh FFS, I did get that wrong.
I swear I hope if anyone in my HH gets symptoms that they tell none of the rest of us.

ThrawnCow · 01/10/2020 22:20

FFS. The whole household must isolate. It's really not complicated.
