Did1 been in contact at school and I'm in the severely vulnerable category was given shielding letter.

But what my problem is that dd2 and ds1 school have said to continue sending them and I don't want to not only do I think it's wrong in reducing the spread but I'm also frightened now.

Can you talk to your GP as they might be able to back up your health concerns to keep your children at home until school are as sure as they can be they are clear of Covid-19.

The way i see it (and sorry this might sound harsh, but its really not my intention) you have two choice, firstly you accept the risk you are taking by sending your children to school. You ask and trust your children to be as careful as the possibly can be. Ask school to support you with this, is it possibly they can sit alone, eat lunch away from the other children ect.

Or you formally home educate.

Your other two DC have not been in contact with someone who has tested postitive (as far as you and school are aware) therefore as a contact of a contact they do not need to isolate.

When you say severely vulnerable, what do you mean?

Sharpandshineyteeth · 01/10/2020 12:11

I’m having chemo at the moment and my lungs are fucked due to infections and cancer.

I get it’s scary. My DD was sitting next to a girl whose sister later tested positive. I kept her off for a week in case any more cases come out in her class. I’ve sent her back now. This is going to be around for a long time and I don’t intend to isolate my children so I am just going to try and negate the risks where possible and balance that with their wellbeing and lives.

Shielding is not happening, at the moment. So you have to evaluate risk.

Do you want the kids to go to school or pull them out and home school?

Theodoreb · 01/10/2020 13:30

I'm not sure I haven't decided but I'm in a lockdown area so high risk here right now.
