I can’t get my head around the accent thing! One of my best mates who has lived in England for ages s she married an English man south of England for what it matters is from wales and therefore has a welsh accent they are in all kinds of lockdown in wales so are you telling me if they fancy a night in a hotel that they’d be refused entry for different accents HmmGrin

Yes you can stay in a hotel as long as you aren’t a group of more than 6 and are not in a lockdown area ( if the rules say you should stay within your high infection rate area, I’m not sure what the rules are in local northern lockdowns )

An accent means nothing! My DH has a northern accent, he has lived in the south with me for 12 years. No hotel is going to question anyone over an accent

Absolutely, as long as you’re not in a lockdown area/area with restrictions. It was quietly announced recently that couples who live apart, that are in a “long term established relationship” no longer need to social distance with each other. I saw it on the sky news (Google sky news couples coronavirus, and it’ll come up first). It was announced sept 23rd.

I think it depends if either of you are from a local lockdown area or the location of hotel is. Would they share a room?

My DD is Scottish and her partner is from Leeds. They sound very different but it would never occur to them that this would be an issue booking into a hotel, even in these strange times. I find it strange that anyone would worry about this.

DH and I have very different, non-local accents and the DCs have a local twang. We've lived together for 17 years.

Assuming they are not on breech of a local lockdown, they'll be fine.
