Has anyone bought a mask frame thing?

Keep seeing these on Facebook and the idea sounds good but am always skeptical about facebook selling.
I mean the silicone things that you place over your mouth inside a mask to help you breath. Do they work?
Think they are called ezmask.

I've just had a look out of curiosity and they just seem superfluous to me. I wear a mask all day at work and have no trouble talking / breathing (and I have chest problems as well that I'm sure would make me "exempt" if I wished but I don't mind wearing them ) Looks like a weird solution to an issue that doesn't exist to me!

I got some a pack of 8, as I found I couldn’t breathe very well with just the mask on and I can honestly say these guards help me such a lot and can now wear masks for however long I have to. They were £4.

Can someone link please?

I've considered them, not that particular brand (there are lots of brands out there). I struggle with cloth (I'm asthmatic, I wear disposable which I'm fine with but cloth I can manage about 5 mins tops), but wonder whether these might make them easier.

I have asthma and bronchiectasis and do struggle with masks. I've ordered some of these but I think they are on a slow boat from China.
Glad to hear they help.

Breathing through your mouth is not good for you. You actually take in less oxygen. I don’t think a device will help you if it is based on mouth breathing.
If you’re struggling to breath with a mask on, it might help to look at the way you breath. There is lots of advice on YouTube and breathing exercises. Patrick Mckeown is a good place to start. There have also been lots of interviews with James Nestor recently about his book breathe.

My DS has asthma, we couldn't get any of the mask frames. Instead I sewed him a 3D mask (I think it might be called a Japanese style mask also?) and he has had success with it and no further problems.

Here is the pattern I used seekatesew.com/3d-mask-template/

Mine were ordered from China through Amazon, but arrived really quick within a few days. 8pcs silicone bracket for masks.

Ps. My son ordered some speakers from Hong Kong on Monday, they arrived Wednesday.

Yes, I got some from Amazon and they are really good. They give you space enough so you're not breathing in your mask IFSWIM, which has the added bonus that the air you're breathing is cool. They help with the glasses steaming up too once you've got everything in the right place.

I use kitchen roll folded in half then in thirds, for extra protection - it works for me and much cheaper!

AlwaysLatte · 30/09/2020 16:25

Oh I just realised this is probably the opposite sort of thing, sorry!

Ginfordinner · 30/09/2020 16:36

Those 3D face masks look just the ticket for me.
I struggle because I have a small face and wear glasses. Also, wearing a mask always makes my nose run so I have to take it off and blow my nose. The then renders the wearing of a maske useless. I still wear mine though.

Sami544 · 03/10/2020 12:08

thanks for all this. I wear one at work all day(teacher) and find I am breathing in the mask each time I speak.

Might have a look at amazon or etsy and give it a go.
