Support bubble with someone who lives 100’s of miles away?

Is it legal for us to form a support bubble with dd who lives 100’s miles from us? We are in a local lockdown but dd isn’t.

She is suffering with quite bad mental health issues atm.

Legal or not, look out for your DD. I'd do it tbh.

I guess the difficulty is justifying the travel if you are stopped

Yes that is fine..lots of young single people are doing this..bubbling with their parents when they live alone in a different city and going to visit them at weekends. I know at least three people who are!

PrivateD00r · 30/09/2020 10:34

Yes I would do it. Can you she come home and move back in for a while?

bethany39 · 30/09/2020 10:39

Yes it's totally fine as long as she lives alone and she's not in a bubble with anyone else.

SoyUnaMujer · 30/09/2020 14:57

Thanks all. Yes she lives alone but is unable to come home because of work commitments. She is refusing to call in sick. She’s only 21 and I’m really worried about her.

Sounds reasonable to me. Not sure of the legalities re: being in lockdown as doesn’t apply to us, so not read guidelines that thoroughly but would be interested to know as dm lives alone a long way away.

If she is in need health wise then you can go and support her without being in a bubble OP.

We've done it with my SiL, who lives at the other end of the country and lives alone. If we go up we bubble with her, have done since the beginning. Great for the kids to see their Aunt.
