Why are there never any public health announcements?

We could do with some couldn't we? Reminding people to wash their hands and wear masks etc Or is none of this important anymore? I though it was.

Maybe I'm missing all the public health announcements ...

You can't blame people for forgetting to do these things if you don't keep reminding them in the first place.

Plenty of posters around here and hear the ads all the time on the radio. Seen loads of online ads too.

Every time I look at twitter, there's an NHS tweet telling me to download that bloody app. Which makes me quite cross, since I can't due to the age of my phone - so its like its taunting me. I may be overthinking this.

I'm in London. They're everywhere - on the radio, at bus stops, station announcements. On Twitter and Facebook.

I tell the adverts to fuck off when they come on!

It’s because you’re only watching / listening to BBC

That Bolton one doesn’t beat about the bush, you’d notice that

I work on the customer service desk in a supermarket and we have to read out announcements every hour to remind people of social distancing etc. It's not too bad at the moment but during the height of lockdown we had to do it every 15 mins. After one announcement it would almost be time for the next. So repetitive!

There was an ad on Sky last night about the wash hands, keep space from others and wear a mask advice.

@Dustballs - as a Radio 4 listener , I too haven’t heard anything

VikingsandDragons · 27/10/2020 10:18

Lots on facebook, tiktok, side banners on various websites that I've seen too. I think you may just have tuned them out

You're definitely missing something. Every other set of adverts on the channel 4 app on amazon has that cheesy, "i wear my mask to protect..." ad. Maybe they've just been on so many times you've become desensitised to them. (Which is the reason the charity ads have had more and more shock value over the years)
