So-called 'NHS' app only allows you to upload results from private Serco tests, not NHS tests.

BBC are reporting that the app won't let users upload negative test results, but from the comments under this article on Twitter, the app won't let you upload positive or negative results if your test was done in an NHS lab (confirmed by a tweet by the 'NHS' app Twitter account. here )

Why was Johnson so annoyed when people pointed out it is Serco Track and Trace, not NHS Track and Trace?

This whole thing is a farce and I won't be downloading an app made by this bunch of incompetents.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the NHS has made deals with the likes of Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Palantir and the Vote Leave-linked company Faculty, which has ties to Dominic Cummings It also contracted Pivotal, a subsidiary of VMware, and Zühlke Engineering to work on the contact tracing app

Why after 3 trials across the UK was the inability to not be able to upload NHS tests identified?
Another example of incompetence by the Conservative party, once famed for its pragmatism - now sadly missing as we head for a EU no-deal and more disruption.

They seem to be working on the logic people can’t be trusted. So they don’t want us to be able to manually enter negative (when in fact positive). (I can understand they don’t want hospitals having to code each test and then issue a code).

But if you are the sort of person who has downloaded the app, entered symptoms when unwell, gone for a test do they really think you’ll then say you are negative when you get a positive result????

FeedtheFish123 · 26/09/2020 15:44

I am not surprised at all by this.
The thing that gets me is you can check in to a place but not out, therefore it thinks you are somewhere you might have left hours ago.
My other issue with it is, if I am sitting i my house with my phone and my neighbour is on her sofa on the other side of the party wall. We are in separate houses but the bluetooth will detect us as spending hours within 2 metres of each other. If one of us tests positive will it advise the other to isolate even though we haven't even been in the same house? It doesn't tell you who the contact is, you could be self isolating for no actual reason.

Read the second link, @GreenGoldRed
You can't input negative OR positive tests if your test was an NHS one!

Why were all these well known companies suckered in by Faculty?

Companies and organisations.

@AKissAndASmile I am aware of the issue. What I was trying to get over, and apologies if not clear, is the reason you can’t input nhs tests is they are not barcoded and tracked in the same way as Serco tests.

The gov don’t want us manually entering tests (which would be your only option with nhs tests) and I presume this is because they think everyone will put in negative when in fact they got a positive result, but as I say if you go to all the effort of inputting, downloading app are you then going to do that?

I think there’s also plenty who’d input positive test results ‘for a laugh’ sadly.

As in fake positive
