School bubbles / home bubbles

Can someone clarify something I can't find the answer to.

I'm currently in an area of local lockdown rules. Taking into account the rule of 6, I can meet 6 people from potentially 6 households outdoors while maintaining socially distance. No one can come to my house or garden unless in my bubble.

As an example, How does this work with school bubbles? My child wants a couple of friends from school to come over. My thought is that it's classed as a play date, my common sense says no. But when your challenged by a teenager you begin to question yourself.

Is the bubble from school aloud in your house? Or is it not because play dates are not, or that bubbles are not allowed to mix. I think I know the answer, I just need the right words

I don't think there are bubbles apart from the support bubble where a single person can bubble with a household. That doesn't affect the rule of six though and school bubbles don't either.

I think...

School bubbles are only for school. A support bubble is something else.
So, if under local lockdown, you can't have any visitors to your house.

My 16 year old has 500 in her bubble at school. Support bubbles are for people living alone like grandparents or for parents who don't live together. Or couples who aren't living together. One of the support bubble must live alone.

No. School bubbles are specific to the school not so that kids can socialise outside school especially in an area of local lockdown.

Thanks for the replies. What I thought.

Bringing people into your house brings them into contact with you and the rest of your household who they wouldn’t be in contact with at school.

The theory is: In school there are rules in place about social distancing, hand gelling etc. In a private house no one can be sure these will happen therefore it's not allowed.

Not the easiest thing to explain to a child!
