Can DC move between parents houses whilst isolating?

Sorry if this is a silly question but DD's school year group has been told to self isolate, this has been since Monday. She's not showing any symptoms. She usually goes to her dad's for 2 nights a week and I'm wondering if it would be okay for her to go, she would be isolating there the same as she is doing here

I think this should be a no but they were all doing it at my dcs school

I didn't let my dc go when we were isolating. Surely you are spreading the risk of infection if you do?

Mippi · 24/09/2020 17:35

Well it’s probably not ideal in terms of limiting infection risks, but I don’t think it’s forbidden.

I would say no, because she is potentially exposing two households IF she starts to show symptoms (and then IF she tests positives, thats double the exposure/contacts, supposing both parents have been out and about).

No. It shouldn't matter which parents house the room she is isolating in because she shouldn't be close enough to either parent to have meaningful contact as she needs to isolate from the rest of the household. If you need childcare whilst at work it would be acceptable for him (or anybody else) to be in the household whilst she remains in another room.

It is more about childcare than anything else

And what if the DD is too young to isolate in that way sense?

Beks1 · 24/09/2020 18:40

DD is 11 so she was been able to keep to herself
