Looking at the way things are going I don't think households will be moving except for childcare by the weekend. Which will mean dd (13) can't have her mates over for a giggle and chill. I know it's only a little thing and I know we have to stop this, I'm nhs, I really know. But I just feel so sad for these poor kids. Going to school in masks, timetable and practical lessons stuffed and now no friends round. It's really not good for them. Dd is quite an introvert and coped well in lockdown and she has her big sister at home but I know she will be sad about it nevertheless, poor kids and their mental health, it's so rotten.

It's shit, all of it. Yes it is for the good but we are allowed to be sick of something which has robbed us of so much fun. Sorry for your daughter Flowers

My DC are still having individual friends over, I am prioritiding their mental health because no- one else is. We have 3 cases per 100, 000 down our way.

@BillywilliamV are the other parents ok with that? I totally agree but I don't want to put other parents in a spot.

At 13 they can meet a friend outside for a couple of hours two metres apart
They can go out alone if responsible.

pandafunfactory · 21/09/2020 18:26

Yes she can but not much fun if it's raining or in the dark nights. I don't want her wandering the streets endlessly.

Looking at patio heaters.......

Yes a good idea. You can give her space and still keep an eye then!
