After spending the day with a friend too scared to walk around a park, and having had covid myself in April, just a few things I mentioned to her:-

i) if we have had 17 million tests carried out in the UK, and aren't sure of immunity yet, isn't it telling/reassuring that there are hardly any reports of reinfection(s)? I am sure if NHS workers had been reinfected, we would have heard. Yes, we don't know how long the immunity would last but isn't the answer to let non vulnerable people be exposed to it? I'm not advocating a covid party by any means.
ii) After having my daughter at home for one day last week due to covid in the school (not her class bubble), have there actually been any reports of multiple infections in a school class or teachers being infected due to students? Again, is it immunity preventing this?
iiI) gyms have now been open since the end of July. They are classed as high risk venues. Have you heard of any outbreaks in gyms reported?
iv) Similarly, why has "hands face space " and protecting the vulnerable not protected against the spread of flu and other viruses, including simple colds? I'm all for good hygiene at all times but what does it say about mask wearing?

I think that the government need to change their scientific advisors.

How heartbreaking that she is so scared Sad I am disgusted by the media and our government for terrorising people Sad

For i) there is as yet no firm evidence that reinfection will be common. It's just too early to be sure.

For iv) I thought there was some evidence that other airborne viruses are being spread less. The same can be said of STDs.
