Has anyone changed their mind about their children being at school?

My two are at school. I think it’s the right decision for them and us as a family. However with cases going up I admit I am getting more anxious about them bringing it home and transmission in general.

I’m at home all day so technically could deregister them, but they’re both in secondary and my eldest in his GCSE year so to be honest I don’t think I’m up to the job, therefore it’s not fair for me to make that decision as their education would be compromised (obviously).

Is anyone else having second thoughts about their children in school? I just feel a bit confused about it all, I really want to do what’s right for them, but am also constantly worried about their dad who’s vulnerable.

I am concerned, cases are rising in my area, we got away with it in March and April, I don’t think we will be so lucky during the next few months. My son has asthma, bad enough to need steroids and occasionally a neb, will pull him out when I feel it’s necessary, happy to pay the fine if required, his health is worth £60 a week or whatever it is.

I don’t trust the government when it comes to our children’s health. Biggest worry is if we need medical care will we receive it, with A&E possibly being managed by calling 111 first, not just turn up and wait to be seen by priority. It won’t work, 111 is not a great service during the winter months in a normal year. I do not blame the NHS for this at all, it’s not their fault.

I don't have children but I do have children in my life who I love and so I also want them to be safe. Yes, 100% I think they should be in school. I think they should be even if cases rise although I would support people taking their children out if they are ECV and things spiral.
