Have you had an inconclusive test result? And why?

Did my 15 month old's Covid rest on my own and it was so so hard with her wriggling and crying. I'm worried I screwed it up. Just wondering if anyone knows what might cause an inconclusive result?

The tip didn't touch any other objects in the car but may have touched her face. Desperate for our negative result so I can go to my first ultrasound tomorrow night (did test Friday afternoon)

DMIL had an inconclusive test result, despite being in hospital with all the classic symptoms, plus low blood oxygen, for 10 days. DFIL wasn’t tested, again all classic symptoms, including being unable to breathe. He was discharged and told to get a taxi home! Shock

@Bupkis yes, a life of negative medical procedures here too ☹️

@RMarieClaire will let you know re the private saliva test. I ordered it a week ago and it's still not here so I'm not overly optimistic.

Thanks all. We got our result this morning. Negative - phew. Confident in the result as she had a fever linked to tonsillitis so it was what we were expecting.

Hopefully they'll find a better way of testing children soon!

Great news @RMarieClaire, all the best with your ultrasound later!
