Does anyone know what the normal oxygen levels are when using an Oximeter please?
And what levels would someone with Covid have?
Thanks 😊

Normal arterial oxygen is approximately 75 to 100 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). Values under 60 mm Hg usually indicate the need for supplemental oxygen. Normal pulse oximeter readings usually range from 95 to 100 percent. Values under 90 percent are considered low

However some patients with Covid were initially not thought to be too ill because their oxygen levels were normal at rest. When walking their levels dropped drastically- google silent hypoxia for info.

I believe below it should not fall below 95. You should take action then and call for some assistance.

Why would you use an oximeter without medical supervision? It's not a diagnostic test... do you have asthma? COPD? heart disease? How odd.

Actually your meter should have instructions.

And ofcourse you can use it without medical supervision. The new Apple Watch has one (obviously there will be limitations).

Normal sats would be 96 and over, unless you have a medical reason for your normal readings to be lower.

Normal is 95% or more.
Various things can cause a false reading like wearing nail varnish or having cold hands.

We've got one, I'm not convinced it's that exact but will show trends which is helpful. I saw a Covid patient bought in to work recently whose sats were mid seventies at home. They pulled him through without too much bother though.
