Symptoms in kids/young teens

Sorry if this has been asked a million times! If you have young teens who tested positive, what symptoms did they have?

My 13 yo stepson has a cough and sore throat. One of his friends tested positive last week. He has no other symptoms. I think we should get him tested, husband thinks I'm being a touch paranoid (but he has just gone out to buy a thermometer, although we don't think he's got a temp).

I'm super paranoid at the moment as my mum is having chemotherapy.

@chocolatesaltyballs22 - if your child had been in close contact with the other child, you would hope test and trace would do its job via information given by your child’s friend. The school cannot break the law and give away another child’s data (ie identify a specific child as having covid 19) without having been instructed to do so by the authorities. Would you want your child’s health information given away without your consent?

@chocolatesaltyballs22 hi there. Hope you're all well.

Me and my family have all tested positive for covid this week.. my symptoms started with body aches, diarrhoea, nausea and stomach cramps. Partner very flu symptoms.. teenage son headache and slight temp for 2 days, 16 yo dd had a sore throat but started today with diarrhoea and nausea, toddler dd had one night of temp and cough.

So as you can see it's just all so different but we are all positive. But we knew this was something different hence why we did the test.

I started with the symptoms weds 9th and still suffering ..

Hope this has helped.

@chocolatesaltyballs22 also if you want to get a test done please do. You do what's best for you and your family.

Thanks for your reply. He's at his mum's now and she says she can't get a test. Not sure what to do about contact later this week now. Am inclined to suggest he stays there.

My 14yr old DS has a temp and a sore throat so he had a test this morning. I spent three hours refreshing the webpage and we had to make a 3 hour round trip to get it. But it's worth it as the alternative is to isolate for 10/14 days.
Not being able to get a test doesn't mean carry on as normal, his DM is being irresponsible. You've done your best though.
