With the guidelines being so confusing what do we do now. With my cousin for 1hr 20 mins on Tuesday morning. She got symptoms on Thursday, and has since tested positive. Do i need to isolate as at the 2 day cut off or am I OK. If i need to isolate does the rest of my household as they weren't in contact and i have no symptoms

I think you need to isolate for 14 days.

espressoontap · 19/09/2020 08:42

And your household.

kimlo · 19/09/2020 08:44

you need to isolate. If the rest of the household didn't see them then they only need to isolate if you get symptoms.

Where on Earth is she that she booked a test on test and then had the test on Thursday and already knows positive?!

Afibtomyboy · 19/09/2020 08:46

Wait she got symptoms two days ago and already has had a test and knows positive?!!

You need to isolate if you were within 1-2 metres of her for any length of time. Your household doesn't unless you begin to show symptoms.

Ds was with his Dad on Sunday, he developed symptoms Wednesday so we are now isolating until either negative test(was tested yesterday) or until next Sunday(14 days after last contact)

Day 2 of isolation and walls are being climbed Sad

If she was eligible for pillar 1 testing, then yes she would have had results by now.

And yes, I think that close contact for that long with someone who tested positive so shortly afterwards means you need to isolate. Your household does not - unless you become symptomatic - though of course the responsible thing to do is to minimise direct contact with you and be diligent about their social distancing when out and about (including reducing non-essential activities). Make sure all high-touch places in your home are cleaned frequently

We are in Northern Ireland so must not be as hard to get a test. Her partner is negative. So i isolate but kids and partner dont? How do i get them to school lol
