Symptoms getting worse when to worry?

Looking for a hand hold and reassurance others have been through it, not medical advice. I don’t think it’s bad enough to call the dr as I am not struggling to breathe.

I tested positive the other day and have fluctuated between feeling ok and pretty rough but not too bad. But I woke up about 3 hours ago feeling much worse, with a fine cold sweat (I assumed it was a fever but tested and temp lower than it has been at 37.7), dizziness, nausea, upset stomach and weakness. It’s lifted to the point I can type this but about an hour ago I was really rough.

Has anyone had this and it not gone on to keep getting much worse? I’m so scared! Thank you.

No advice but a virtual hug. Is anyone with you or are you on your own? X

I’m not able to advise but just want to say that I hope you feel better soon x

Thank you! Husband is here but he’s asleep downstairs as we have a baby and a toddler so he’s going to have to look after them Sad

I had it a while back, and yes, it fluctuates.....don't be scared. You are far more likely to come through it than otherwise. I felt rough but OK to potter about at home slowly at first, but after about 3 days thought I might be picking up. Then by day 5 felt really, really ill and took a turn for the worse. Temp rose and that's when I had the symptoms you describe. Subsequently been told by others that day 5 - 7 are the turning points.

If you can get through that, slowly things change for the better. I found some of my symptoms, such as back pains and loss of taste/smell only came at that point, not earlier. I also felt as though I could do with more oxygen but I wasn't gasping for breath or anything, and it didn't get any worse than that.

Was 3 days in bed at the worst point, after that I got a bit better every day and was certainly up and about (obviously still isolating though). By day 10 you will be over the worst of it; people I know who have gone into hospital had their downward turn at that point so if you get that far you're more likely to be through the hardest part.

I was scared at the time but looking back, I didn't need to be, it's just the unknown and all the hype around the virus. If I get it again (if such a thing is possible?) I shall know now that I can survive it and not be so worried.

Good advice there. I think it must be the unknown that’s scary: like labour. You survived that so you can do this - honest. :)
