Do you think childcare will stay open over half term?

Just wondering, since the rhetoric appears to suggest we’re heading to a second lockdown in October, whether you think nurseries will stay open? Will nannies still be able to go to their employers’ homes? I appreciate this is just an opinion poll and we’ll have to wait and see...!

God I hope so! I’m solely reliant on nursery for childcare. I’m returning to work after mat leave in a few weeks and working from home is not an option. I guess I’ll take annual leave to cover it.

I’m also returning in a few weeks, hence my concern... DH will have to take time off, I think. I’m rather concerned.

Yes, I think it will be allowed (whether it does will depend on the individual provider and whether they normally close, which might be awkward as there won't be as many day camps running, though some kept going)

My bet is there will be a ban on intercity travel for all the half term weeks (somat least a fortnight) to stop families potentially spreading it across the country by making leisure/family visits.

Which would nicely stuff up UK leisure/hospitality/tourism sectors, as half term is usually a profitable time

I hope so... those are my days to get planning done for Nov/Dec!

If the government want people to continue with being in the workplace I would hope that childcare will remain open.

We won't be in a proper lockdown.
Workplaces will remain open and people can come and go as they please but just come home in time for 10pm when the pubs close.
As I said, not a proper lockdown.
