Advice re singing

DD was singing and dancing in a class last night which is what they would do pre Covid.... however I was expecting dance only. Before I contact the dance school does anyone know what the current regulations are? I thought they shouldn't sing. We are in an area with high cases and local lockdown

Sounds a bit hypocritical that you're in a local lockdown area yet still sent your daughter to a (regulated? approved on the govt list of 'allowed' organised events?) group, assuming more than 6 participants, and now you're querying one aspect of the activity? Hmm

Singing is allowed, under a tight set of regulations. It means that some are not bringing back their singers while other are.

Ask to see their risk assessments if you are that worried

Harsh Ffs?? My daughter has had significant mental health issues during lockdown and lives for her dance activities. It's a highly esteemed dance school who have assured us they have all RA in place. It's also fully legal for her to go, we are not breaking any rules. I just wondered if anyone could help me with regulations before I contact the school. All I can find relates to churches

Well that'll be because church gatherings are allowed under certain regulations, as are organised sporting events under certain regulations.

My band and choir leaders have taken the informed and now appropriate legal decision to cease our formerly appropriately socially distanced rehearsals due to the new restrictions. I wonder if your dance/singing club should still be running. I get the MH stuff, I cried when I went to my first post-lockdown rehearsal, in a field, with shit acoustics, and literally 25m away from some band members. But I'd be querying the professional choices of this club and raising merry hell/withdrawing my dd/finding another activity

Just because they are highly esteemed doesn't mean they're not averse to bending the rules, especially if they've been closed for months and struggling financially
