Anyone else in Tameside wondering why the govt isn't doing anything?

Infection rates increasing rapidly, most schools have cases and a school has had repeated cases in different years despite 'bubbles'.
Tameside hospital is now the first hospital to have a spread of Covid inside the hospital where people have gone in for a operation and died from Covid. Don't know how to link but the guardian has a article today that they are being investigated as most deaths from the country are in the hospital in the previous week.

All over community Facebook pages not just one post but lots of posts can't get a test and they have symptoms.
Why is it being ignored?
Anyone else in Tameside and really worried that this is spiralling out of control?

I am cautiously concerned but not sure what else to say or do. Tameside have been in local lockdown since Eid before all this Number of Six shenanigans. Feel sorry that Tameside hospital now have that 'record' - they were absolutely brilliant there when I needed non-corona related treatment.
Do you want full lockdown in force and schools shut? Where I am I am not sure it will make a difference - I thought the clusters were Hyde. I used to swim there but not since March obviously. I had a covid test at the Manchester stadium a week ago (negative). It was awful self-isolating again but I did it. I see some in masks around here but not all. Which school has had repeated cases (area if you cannot name school itself).

The school with several cases over different years is pinfold in hattersley.
I actually feel more at risk now than back in March I think it's every 2 mins hearing a school has a case
I actually do think a strict lockdown is needed, I know others won't agree but it's out of control

I’m in duki And I feel the same, tameside wasn’t really badly hit at the start but all of a sudden it’s rising rapidly

Tamesider · 15/09/2020 22:23

Ah I have just taken a look - must say the letters from the acting head are a decent turnaround time, good on them. My dentist is down that way and I am at Tesco Hattersley and Maccy D's drive through a lot Wink I could change where I shop. Tameside's numbers overall over the last few months have always been quite high - not Bolton/Oldham levels but weren't we on amber for ages at best rather than green? Tameside primaries were held back two weeks because of our pillar 2 data.
I don't know is the answer. I need to get back to work soon. I am also feeling vulnerable (inhaler). My kids are vulnerable (need some interaction). My school is great but not as many clear directives on testing as Pinfold but that said, we haven't had bubbles break yet. It's all a bit of a 'mare, isn't it? I am tough but also prone to anxiety. I wish at least there was an accurate antibody test - sure, it can mutate and you could get it again but it would still be nice to know whether I have had it once already.

I'm in the NW, I can't understand why they aren't making sure we have enough tests. I don't think our part of the country is a priority for the government.

islockdownoveryet · 15/09/2020 22:35

I'm also in Greater Manchester, it does concern me that more is not being done.
People can't get tests possibly due to people taking tests without symptoms. Xx

Gobacktothe90s · 15/09/2020 22:37

I actually think a lot more people have it than what is being said as every post on community pages are their child is il
Wouldn't put it past this govt to restrict tests to lower positive cases so the schools stay open

I think it's the usual coughing they get each and every term start but because new continuous cough is a symptom, there's many kids having to jump through the hoops and supply cannot keep up with demand. The government surely to God could have seen this coming?
