Do you think GCSE’s & A Levels will go ahead next year?

I can’t see how! We are not even 3 weeks into playing the covid Hokey Cokey. My year 11 is isolating (waiting for ever for test results and we are the lucky ones getting a test in the first place!). No school work set yet. No doubt some schools will have to send their year 11 home to isolate for 2 weeks. They’ve already missed all that time from March to July - 14 and a half weeks here. But Ofqual are saying the exams will happen as normal.

How??

I have a year 11 and 13! The year 13 has had two days in college and is self isolating already for two weeks due to a positive test in his class. The year 11 is still hanging on in there.
They're both bright and good at exams and I hope they do go ahead with adjustments, although the disparity of remote teaching between schools during lockdown here is a big issue. DS2 provision was woeful on the whole.
My nephew has just been given a fistful if 9's for his GCSE's almost across the board, and although he's smart most of those he freely admits were unexpected and above previous predictions.
I don't want that for mine. I want them to 'earn' their grades. They've a mountain to climb though.

It's impossible for anyone to know what will happen but the only workable option at this stage is probably to work on the basis that there will be some form of exams. I can't see what else schools can do of course Ofqual want them to go ahead but only a fool would think they can say anything with certainty at the moment

I saw something about them considering doing online exams at home if need be. I'm not sure how that would work though. I have a friend who does her Year 13 son's homework for him as he is unmotivated and she has a degree in the subject. He'd probably do very well but it wouldn't be his work!
