Hello!

My DC(7) started with a cough today. I've managed to get an appointment for a test tomorrow morning at a centre 2 hours away, and when I booked her in I only used HER details (name, DOB etc), but obviously with my mobile number and email address. So only her name is on the pass.

The pass/appointment confirmation has arrived via email - but should I have added my details somewhere too? I was really stressed when I filled it in and the slots were disappearing so fast. I don't want to drive the 2 hours to find I should have added my details in somewhere.

TIA

No her details is correct as she is the one having the test .

It is the details for the person having the test only. You will get the results to your phone for her but they will be recorded under her name/age which is correct Smile

I had the opposite problem last week, booked my son a test and started in my name then realised at no point had I been asked to give his name (although I'd given his DoB). So when the result came it looked like it was for me!

It should be clearer shouldn't it?!

It's fine. I a DD6 tested and did exactly the same, her details and my email and phone. When you go for the test they just ask who it's for and scan the QR code. The email and mobile are the contacts they use to email and text the results.

We did the same when we booked the slot for my 6 year old. You don’t need to add your details too- just the information for the people actually needing the test.
We took his passport along for ID but they didn’t check it, just scanned the QR code.
Good luck for tomorrow! Smile

Thank you all so much - you've put my mind at ease! I definitely feel like the questions could be clearer. I'm sure she'd love to drive herself up to the test centre but at least I know I can take her and we can get in Grin she's absolutely fine apart from an mild but persistent cough that's developed over today, so fingers crossed it'll be negative...

All I can say is 2 hours... it’s piss poor. I was being told to go to Scotland (3 hours away) then I luckily got a test site local to me... my god what a mess.

NotAnotherCough · 13/09/2020 20:27

LittleRen I know, I was gutted. Initially when I checked there was nothing, I checked a few more times over the course of an hour, and rang one of the help numbers - nothing. Then joy! One 6 miles away! Selected a time slot, and then it abruptly took me back to the main screen, and no confirmation appeared...went back in and they'd all gone at that location. This happened with 4 more sites, until I found the one 2 hours away, and thankfully a text and email popped up immediately confirming it. We'll leave about 8am and should be home early afternoon - what a total faff, but at least I have one booked....

Well we’re back and she’s tested - 24-48 hours for results apparently. Hope everyone that needs a test gets one close to them quickly! Smile
